Protecting Your Family From Poor Air Quality, Naturally!

Pure, clean air is increasingly less common, which is bringing challenges to family health.

Natural health clients have been expressing concerns, and in some cases symptoms, that their families are experiencing. These conversations, and the many questions raised on the 1000 Hours Outside group page too, led Ginny Yurich and I to have a discussion about the poor air quality and our families’ health on her podcast. (You won’t want to miss this one, find it here.) Even though we covered so much, there was alot of specific suggestions that we were not able to get to. So I’ve gathered all my notes and recommendations into an eBook, free for everyone in July! It encompassed lifestyle ideas, effective remedies and supplements, and the best devices available to help us staying healthy and robust through air quality challenges. A sampling follows below.

Lets’s reduce the fear and empower the health of our communities with solid naturopathic information. Enter your email below for an instant 19-page download packed with ideas for every family member.

Here’s a sampling of the dozens of ideas to get you started:

#1. Trust yourself, not just the apps.  Step outside and check it out the weather!

  • Our bodies, when functioning smoothly, are beautiful symphonies which handle environmental variations gracefully.  We are not powerless, there is so much we do can do to support its best functioning.

#2.  Improve indoor air quality.

  • Many common products increase the toxins that the body has to clear out on a daily basis just to get by.  This tends to increase inflammation, and can wear out the body’s immune system and detox system by keeping it busy all the time.

  • Family members of every age will have better short and long-term health with toxin-neutral sleeping areas free of chemical contaminants of all descriptions, which allows the body a true rest and restoration period each day. This means reducing artificial scents like laundry soap that ‘smells good even when the clothes are dirty’, aromatic plug-ins, and commercially scented candles.

#3. Consider using homepathic Carbo Veg. for symptoms

  • Carbo Veg – Indicated when there is a feeling of “Not getting enough oxygen into the lungs”; also for hoarseness and a spasmatic cough. Recommended especially when there are problems from exposure to smoke.

#4. Mullein (Verbascum) leaves support both long-term lung health, and acute irritated lungs.

  • Related uses include asthma, bronchitis, dry coughs, earaches, relaxes lungs, and sore lungs.

  • Preparations include nourishing herbal infusion from leaves, tea from flowers, tincture all parts, decoction from roots. It combines well with other herbs.

  • Mullein leaves have long been used to support those who’ve inhaled irritants such as pollution or wildfire smoke.

  • Some users will need the preparations to be filtered finely (like a coffee filter), as the very fine hairs from the leaves may be physically irritating to them.

And much more, including critical supplements and helpful resources!
