Condensed, completely personalized, and crammed with multi-media, practical and easy-to-remember examples, the golden nuggets for both of you. Honestly, though, make time to do as much of this as you can. Typically, couples are thinking “I just need to know what is going to happen.” Think much bigger though - Women do NOT just birth with their vaginas on that one day! Birth includes the body, mind and spirit, and all will be participating and affected. A good class (series) will address those many facets; at least two sessions make more room for integration and processing.
As time allows, we can cover prepping for an efficient labor, the 3 things you can control in the hospital to reduce pain and shorten your labor, understanding and coping with the many dimensions of labor, navigating the unexpected, nuances of pushing out the baby, meeting the baby, feeding the baby, mama’s body, coping with immediate and first few weeks of postpartum (WAAAAAY bigger than any first-time parent even imagines). Even the topic “when to go to the hospital” could be 10 minutes.... The more info you have on all this, the less turbulent this journey may be.
This class is catered to your primary concerns and can be as basic as needed. It’s highly recommended that you watch a 2-hour childbirth ed video (free YouTube link provided) as a prep before our class; the more basics you understand coming in, the richer this class can be.
